Longtime wife Meg's meritless, inconsistent behavior comes off more clumsy than authentic. Thankfully, Jim Broadbent is there to lift the film's spirits.

Any film that stars Jim Broadbent already has a lot going for it. The problem with casting such an immanently likable actor, however, is that when he plays a defenseless character under assault, 4-chlorodehydromethyltestosterone one's powerlessness to stop the onslaught can make for difficult viewing.
Such is the case with "Le Kamagra 100 Week End" in which Broadbent plays Nick, a 60 ish London professor who goes on a short 30th anniversary vacation in Paris with his teacher wife Meg (Lindsay Duncan, "About Time"). When their initial plans fall through, they upgrade hotels and eat fine food, but mostly Meg just picks at her doting husband while he takes the abuse.
Following no clear pattern, Meg's actions weave between bickering and affection, suggesting bipolar tendencies (or "tripolar," as she herself posits). Her barbs come out of nowhere, and as she swings from suggesting divorce to acting like a child and forcing bewildered Nick to play along, it becomes increasingly tough to pinpoint what makes her tick.
Thankfully, Broadbent is there to lift the film's spirits. His silly sing along to "Like a Rolling "Jintropin China Supplier" Stone" while he raids the hotel mini bar is wonderful, and the occasions when he encourages Meg to muse on the radical doings of their generation and plot the next chapter of their lives carry great appeal.
The best scenes of "Le Week End," though, are when Nick escapes a fateful party hosted by old friend Morgan (Jeff Goldblum at his Equipoise 600 Goldblumiest) to hang out with the host's teenage son Michael (Olly Alexander, "Great Expectations"). This union of kindred misfit souls finding common ground over a little grass is a pure delight and the perks don't stop there.
Throughout, director Roger Michell ("Notting Hill") films Nick, Meg and the city warmly. His visuals offer few blatant "Midnight in Paris" postcard moments, yet pleasant sights still sneak in. Anavar Que Es (It is the "buy cheap jintropin online" City of Light, after all.)
Multiple appearances of the dance scene from Godard's "Bande Part" and a recurring theme that sounds like a dissonant take on "The Look of Love" also help dull Meg's sting. The pain still lingers once the credits roll, but there's generally enough pleasure to even it out.
